Idea

The idea of the double bass competition was born when a large number of Domenico Dragonetti's titles (approximately 250) were found in our Library thanks to the work of prof. Paolo da Col and his collaborators. We must give further motivation

add the concomitant presence at the Museum of

Conservatory of 5 very high quality double basses built between

end of the 17th century and the middle of the 19th century, by luthiers such as Goffriller or Testore, all

perfectly preserved and playable. Such a combination of unique situations

could not be ignored and so with these qualities the Conservatory could

presents to the world, trusting in a process of revitalization and

momentum also of one's own activities and connections with others

important national and international institutes.
